Find family fun during the short winter days.

January can be one of the hardest months for many people. The holidays are over, the days are still short (but getting longer!), and it is hard to find things to do outside.

Don't let this discourage you from finding things to do with your kids. Here's a list of some things to do:

  • Go sledding! Andies Prairie is about an hour away and is great for sledding, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing.

  • Take a walk outside then warm up with hot chocolate.

  • Go to the library! Walla Walla has a vast library, and the staff will help you and your child find an excellent book for a cold winter's day.

  • Play board games together. Book and Game in downtown Walla Walla has a fantastic selection of games for all ages.

  • Write letters to relatives and friends thanking them for holiday gifts. It is a great way to teach your child the value of showing appreciation.

While we haven't had any snow yet, we can always look forward to playing outside if we do get a snow storm!
